Ron Harris was born and raised in Los Altos, California. At that time, Los Altos was known for their abundance of fruit orchards. Ron worked in these orchards when he was in his early teens and enjoyed working with the Mother Nature and seeing the fruits of his hard work come harvest. In his later teens, he switched gears and worked for his Uncle’s commercial painting contractor business, as a laborer. The skills he learned working for his Uncle helped Ron earn his living expenses during college where he worked for small contractors in San Francisco. After leaving school, he began painting full-time for commercial painting companies in the Bay Area. He went into painting with the intention of having his own business. After three to four years of working for others Ron’s entrepreneurial side kicked in. He struck out on his own with partner Tom Chay in 1974 to start his painting contracting company that he continues to run today.
Ron realizes his great fortune in life as to having married his high school’s homecoming queen. They were blessed with two lovely daughters, both of whom graduated from Pam and Ron’s alma mater.
Since his mid-high school years, Ron enjoyed travels to Napa Valley where, then, wine sampling was allowed without much concern as to age. What captured Ron was the aroma of fermenting wine at Mondavi’s brand new winery, and other wineries in the valley. This nostalgic scent still captivates him to this day.
